On February 17, China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co. Ltd. (CGGC International) signed a framework contract for 500-MW photovoltaic power generation in Uganda. It is an important achievement of CGGC to practice the concept of green development, promote China's new energy industry to go global in a collaborative manner, and facilitate the transformation of global energy structure and the sustainable development.

With a total installed capacity of about 500 MW, the project is going to be constructed in Moroto and Lira of Uganda in two phases. It is planned to adopt EPC + financing mode for cooperation, and CGGC will be the exclusive EPC contractor to implement the project. The preliminary work scope of the 500 MW photovoltaic power generation project includes the design, procurement, construction and commissioning. The contract amount of the project is about USD 500 million (about RMB 3.5 billion). During the construction and operation of the project, thousands of jobs can be created in Uganda to promote local social and economic development.

During the critical period of fighting against COVID-19 and ensuring production and stable operation, CGGC has worked hard to fulfill responsibilities, taken the initiative in making contributions, innovated its working methods, continued to prevent and control COVID-19 and resume production at the same time, carefully planned key work and projects, and kept close communication and cooperation with customers and partners at home and abroad by means of Internet and other tools, so as to achieve its steady progress in international market development.
